Be A Finisher

How to finish what you start

Well done is better than well said. ~Benjamin Franklin

Today, I want to encourage you to be a finisher. Be a person who finishes what they start, no matter how long it takes or how difficult it gets.  Actually when you have a dream, goal or project you can expect delays, setbacks and obstacles.  It’s almost as if the Universe is saying “how bad do you want this? how much do you believe in this?”  Nothing worth doing ever comes easy.  Whether you have a weight loss goal, a financial/work related goal, educational goal…finish what you start.

What will help us become a finisher?

An unshakeable determination .  Having a determined attitude means to recommit yourself each day to your goal, with a belief that is so strong that nothing will stop you from accomplishing what you set out to do.  No one can distract you, you accept no excuses from yourself, and no one can talk you out of it.

Set your mind in a positive optimistic direction.  No matter what comes your way make a decision to be optimistic when thinking and speaking.  Our thoughts and words shape our attitude and the only way to be determined is to deliberately be positive and optimistic.  It’s not denying any reality you may be walking through, it’s deciding that you are going to approach your circumstances in a positive and optimistic way. By practicing this, you increase your confidence and self –esteem.

Take action every day. Do something every day that will move you forward towards your goal.  No matter how small, it’s still counts.   Every choice we make is moving us in a direction, be aware and analyze your choices.

Be patient. In order to be patient, we have to practice it.  The dictionary describes patience as a quiet and steady perseverance.  Patience is continued effort with a good attitude.  We all have to wait in life. It is how we wait that is the key.

Well done is better than well said.

So, remember, we have only one day at a time to live, so let’s live this day consciously and deliberately and let’s choose well.
