Life takes courage
We would accomplish many more things if we did not think of them as impossible.
~ Vince Lombardi
Getting married, having children, starting a new business, going to college, first day of elementary or middle school for your kids, whatever is happening in your life takes courage.
Courage is not the absence of fear, it’s the ability to overcome fear and do what you have to do in the midst of it.
He who has overcome his fear will truly be free. ~Aristotle
How do we begin to overcome fear?
Develop an “I can” determination by meditating on thoughts that strengthen and empower you. Don’t allow your mind to work against you and get in the way of things you want to accomplish. On purpose think and speak positive, optimistic and hopeful. Many people don’t go for big things in life because of fear – fear of disappointment, fear of what people will think and fear of failure. But in order to move forward, grow, and be all you can be, you have to step out. Wouldn’t you rather be disappointed occasionally and gain strength and courage from stepping out than live full of regret because you never tried?
Take action everyday towards what you want to accomplish. Small consistent steps every day add to large results in the long run. Nothing happens until you move.
Practice patience. Daily life brings so many opportunities to practice this virtue of patience. The dictionary describes patience as a quiet and steady perseverance. It’s the ability to accept and endure delay, trouble or suffering without getting angry or upset. Patience is continued effort with a good attitude. We all have to wait in life. Patience is the key to happiness, success and contentment.
Again, we would accomplish many more things if we did not think of them as impossible.
So, remember, we have only one day at a time to live so live this day consciously and deliberately and choose well!
