How to keep your peace
Remain calm, serene, always in command of yourself. You will find out how easy it is to walk through life. ~Paramahansa
Choosing to come from a place of peace and calmness is a powerful choice.
In peace there is:
- Clarity
- Strength and energy for our body
- Emotional stability
- Spiritual strength
Unease, worry, anxiety, frustration, anger, resentment and other negative emotions can not only create disease and inflammation in the body, but drains us of our energy.
So, what can we do to cultivate peace and calmness?
- Work it out, literally. Exercise is one of the best ways to release stress, tension, worry and anxiety out of the body and create a sense of calmness and clarity. Get yourself on a regular, moderate intense workout routine. In addition, in the moment of unease, go outside for a few minutes and take a walk. Focus on your breath as you are walking to bring a sense of calmness to your thoughts and emotions.
- Take a time out. Practice 2 minute peaceful moment meditations. These days, our phones are connected to us. Set a timer on your phone for 2 minutes, breathe, and say a powerful mantra to yourself such as “I come from a place of calmness and peace.” Concentrate of your exhale. Consciously exhale deeper and longer than your inhale. This promotes calmness and relaxation.
- Own an optimistic perspective. Develop the perspective that nothing in life happens to you, it happens for you, as Tony Robbins has brilliantly said. Most spiritual writings teach that all things work together for our good when we remain hopeful. When you own this perspective, this keeps you in a space of optimism.
So, remember, we have only one day at a time to live, so live it today, and choose to come from a place of peace and calmness today!
