Staying away from negativity
The only disability in life is a bad attitude.
~Scott Hamilton
I love this quote.
Do your best to maintain a positive optimistic attitude. It’s too “easy” to be in a complaining, blaming, victim attitude. Deliberately choose how you want to “be” in every situation you are in, instead of having that situation dictate your attitude. In day to day life, we are faced with challenges of all kinds and we encounter all types of people. But we still get to choose how we react or respond.
The best way I have found to keep yourself in your peace is to pause and breathe.
Feeling overwhelmed? Pause and breathe. Feeling frustrated and impatient? Pause and breathe. Feeling angry? Pause and breathe. As you pause and breathe, say a prayer (such as the serenity prayer “God grant me the strength to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”) or an affirmation such as “let go.” This simple exercise allows you to center yourself and brings you back to the present moment with clarity and focus.
Maintaining a positive optimistic attitude is a practice that needs to be worked daily. When we train ourselves to maintain this attitude, it keeps our physical body energized, our mind clear and focused our spirit strong and stable. We are not easily shaken and rattled by life.
Every day you live with a negative attitude is a day you have wasted. Don’t waste a minute of your day.
So, remember, we have only one day at a time to live so live today consciously and deliberately and choose well!
