Choose Optimism
Meeting a goal takes dedication, focus, effort and sacrifice and all it takes to turn a goal into reality is time. Any area of our life can change in a healthy positive direction when we change our habits. A habit is a behavior pattern regularly followed until it becomes involuntary. Our daily choices create our habits.
I want to encourage you today to create a habit of optimism. Optimism is a choice. It is an attitude we choose to have on purpose. It is expecting a good outcome. It is seeing the good in everyone and everything. It is choosing to do and be your best right where you are.
One of the simplest ways to practice optimism is to stop complaining. Complaining is a negative habit that holds us back, and robs us of peace and joy in the moment. Choose to stop complaining, and when you do speak, make it hopeful.
When we choose optimism
- it will keep our mind clear and focused, it will keep our immune system strong by reducing the stress hormone cortisol and increasing happy endorphins.
- we develop the patient endurance it takes to achieve any goal we set for ourselves.
- we feel excited to take action each day to move us forward toward what we want to accomplish because you are expecting good things and good results for the effort you are making.
Goals take time to achieve. Goals take dedication, sacrifice, focus and continued effort. Choose to be optimistic each day to help you stay strong, steady, stable and patient in your efforts.
So, remember, we have only one day at a time to live, so let’s live this day consciously and deliberately and let’s choose well!
