Why do we resist doing things that we know are good for us?
Energy and persistence conquer all things.
~Benjamin Franklin
It is 5:00 am, the alarm goes off and it’s time to get out of bed, workout and start your day. This is your first CHOICE of the day. Will you get up or rollover and hit the snooze button? Is it a big deal if you roll over? May I respectfully say, “YES!”
You just lost the first battle of the day to your feelings. We ALL battle that weary, self-sabotage sluggish feeling of not wanting to do something we know is good for us. This is a DAILY, moment by moment battle. From choosing to be positive and optimistic in the midst of challenge, to eating clean, to creating a nourishing evening practice so we can get a good night’s sleep. We all have to break through this weary sluggish, “I don’t feel like it” mood in order to accomplish even the smallest of positive healthy tasks on a daily basis!
There is no way we can become healthy fit and strong in mind body and spirit and enjoy our everyday life even in the midst of challenge unless we wake up every morning ready to go to battle with this weary, sluggish “I don’t feel like it” mood.
How do we overcome? How do we stay consistent with doing all the things we know we need to do to take care of ourselves (exercise, eating clean, sleep well, staying positive and optimistic)?
- Get really good at living moment by moment
- Train our mind to work for us instead of against us.
Life is lived moment by moment, slowing down enough to really be present, pay attention to what is in front of you and make the most positive healthy choice you can in the moment.
Our thoughts DIRECT our attitude, our mood, behavior and actions. Meditating on thoughts that strengthen and empower you will boost your confidence and self-esteem, strengthen your will power and discipline, and boost your energy and focus. We need to train our mind to work for instead of against us. When practiced CONSISTENTLY you will find yourself winning the battle of the “I don’t feel like it” weary, sluggish mood.
We can meditate ourselves healthy, confident, strong, successful and empowered.
Begin now!
Let’s train our mind to work for us instead of against us!
So, remember, we have only one day at a time to live so live today consciously and deliberately and choose well!
