The importance of optimism
A Native American boy was talking with his grandfather. “What do you think about the world situation?” He asked. The grandfather replied, “I feel like wolves are fighting my heart. One is full of anger and hatred; the other full of love, forgiveness, and peace.” “Which one will win?” asked the boy. To which the grandfather replied, “The one I feed.” (Author unknown)
This simple story illustrates brilliantly that “you become what you think about.” Sometimes it’s hard to stay positive when certain situations come up, but we can ALWAYS stay optimistic. We can always find a more empowering way to look at things. This attitude will keep our body healthy and energized, our mind positive and focused, our spirit strong. The best way to practice optimism and actively think positive thoughts is to meditate on thoughts that empower and strengthen you!
May I encourage you to:
- Take some time in the morning to fill your mind and spirit with positive affirmations
- Contemplate thoughts that will strengthen and empower you and set the tone for the day.
So, remember, we have only one day at a time to live so live today consciously and deliberately and choose well!
