Be All In The Present Moment
Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future; concentrate the mind on the present moment. ~Buddha
One of the greatest road blocks to achieving any goal, dream or good intention is ruminating about the past or projecting into the future. This not only robs us of the present moment, but blocks us of experiencing joy and happiness right now where we stand.
If we focus on the past with guilt or regret, or worry and become anxious about the future, we squander the only time that is most important to make any positive changes, which is now. We can and should envision and be hopeful of a bright future, but we need to “Be all in” to the present moment, do and be our best right here to make that vision a reality.
How do we practice staying in the present?
Breathe. Meditate. Use the power of your breath to bring you back to the present moment when you find yourself in the past or the future. Give yourself a peaceful timeout when you feel yourself getting overwhelmed, anxious or worried. We offer a 5 minute peaceful moment meditation that will release stress and tension instantly and ground you in the present.
Be whole hearted in all you do, right where you are. Give your best right where you stand. It has been said if you are not content and happy right where you are, you probably won’t find happiness anywhere else. You take yourself wherever you go. Align all you do, say and think in the direction you want your life to go. Be all in where you stand. Whole hearted effort brings you whole hearted results.
Be grateful right where you are. May I encourage you to get into a habit of taking a few minutes in the morning to set the tone for the day in gratitude. Don’t take your goodness for granted. Acknowledge your health, family, friends, your freedoms, your faith, your standard of living. There is so much to be grateful for.
So remember, we have only one day at a time to live, so live it today, consciously and deliberately and choose well!
