Positive Focus

The power of positive focus and how to develop it

Be vigilant; guard your mind against negative thoughts. ~Buddha

A positive, happy and healthy life doesn’t just happen. We make it happen. Every choice is moving us in a direction.

Let’s talk about positive focus. We all have things that we are working on and working through.   As long as we have breath in us, there will always be something to deal with.  But we have a choice as to how we will approach and deal with life.  We could allow uncertainty and self-doubt to cause us to be worried, anxious, and give up.  Or, we can use the power of positive focus to visualize and expect a good outcome.

Deliberately focusing on a positive outcome helps us to feel calm and in peace about our circumstance.  This will strengthen us spiritually and keep us steady and stable in the midst of uncertainty.

Allowing ourselves to be consumed with negative, worried, anxious thoughts literally makes us sick, drains us of our energy, and weakens us.

So I want to encourage you to use your energy of focus in a positive way. Imagine and expect a good outcome. You are going to be focusing, contemplating and thinking about something so you might as well make it the most positive, helpful contemplation you can.

Here are a few tips that will help keep a positive focus:

  1. Own your perspective: Choose to interpret your situation in an optimistic way. Stay hopeful. Find the silver lining. Practice gratitude. You can always be grateful for something no matter how challenging the situation is.
  1. Take responsibility for your attitude and mindset. Start today to develop a strong mindset by deliberately thinking good thoughts on purpose. MEDITATE!  Have the attitude that nothing is happening to me, it’s happening for me, and something good is going to come from this.
  1. Take care of your physical body with clean food, plenty of water, challenging consistent exercise and quality sleep.   It’s hard to keep a positive focus if we are unhealthy physically.
