When we are no longer able to change a situation we are challenged to change ourselves.
~Victor Frankl
What a blessing it is that we have not only the gift of a new day, but the gift of choice. And every choice we make is moving us in a direction. Every choice matters, every choice counts and has consequences/results depending on the quality of your choice.
Make a commitment to not allow the little things to build up. Learn to let go of the things you have no control over, and focus instead on the things you can change and control. Our approach to life, the way we think, and the actions we take are all in our control. Choose positivity and forward-moving action.
Don’t allow yourself to linger in anger, resentment, or bitterness. These feelings will not only create more negative situations in your life but it will affect your health negatively. There is so much anger, hatred and division in our nation and it’s truly heartbreaking. The good news is there is something we can do. Resolve to be a person of hope and peace. Bring love and light to any dark negative situation and circumstance.
This practice reminds me of a beautiful quote by St. Francis of Assisi,
All the darkness of the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle.
Look for the goodness around you all day every day to keep your attitude up. Pause and notice the beautiful. Contemplate all the things you love about your life.
Always remember, there is power in peace and hope. And it’s a choice. Own that power.
So remember we have only one day at a time to live, so live it consciously and deliberately and choose well.
