Happy thoughts, happy life
If you are facing in the right direction, all you need to do is keep on moving forward.
~ Buddhist proverb
There are two general directions to go, forward or backward. You can make positive progress in your physical, emotional, and spiritual life (move forward) or go backward – it’s all up to you.
Today, now, this moment, which direction are you choosing to move?
Are you sending your thoughts, words, attitudes and behavior in the direction you want to go and move forward or are you acting and feeling powerless and helpless about your life?
The more we think and speak about something, we give life to it, and the more we experience it. For example, think and talk about the people and things you dislike (complaining) the more you will dislike them and this becomes energy draining even making us sick and irritable. But talk and think about the things and people you love and are grateful for in your life, you will increase your ability to love your life and never compare yourself with others.
You get to choose each day which direction you want to do.
Here are three things to practice to help you move forward with happy thinking:
- Speak your words in the direction you want your life to go. Refuse to blame, criticize, condemn or complain about yourself, other people and your circumstances.
- Look for things each day to put on your gratitude/appreciation list. Don’t take the goodness in your life for granted.
- Remember you ALWAYS have a choice. The thoughts we dwell on determine our direction – forward or backward, helpful or non-productive. Our thoughts drive our action, our attitude, emotions. Learn to love everything in your life except evil. If you dislike something in life, change it. If you can’t change it, change your thoughts about it and that will change your attitude. It’s up to you to choose today which way to go.
Remember we have only one day at a time to live, so let’s live today consciously and deliberately and choose well.
