Growing from your challenges
When life hands you a lemon, squeeze it and make lemonade.
~W. Clement Stone
May I encourage you today to approach every challenge, unfair situation, disappointment as an opportunity to learn, grow and change. We will all experience challenge, unfair situations and disappointments. The key is how we choose to respond them. Whatever it is, ask yourself “what is the opportunity here?”
Most of the time the opportunity is to take positive forward moving action, to practice a more beneficial, helpful, and positive attitude, and spiritual growth.
- If you are stuck in traffic, maybe the opportunity is to practice patience.
- If you have a challenging boss or co-worker, maybe the opportunity is to practice confidence.
- If your goal is taking a little longer to accomplish, maybe the opportunity is to practice perseverance and trust.
- If you lost your job, it’s an opportunity to really get clear about what you want to do.
Confidence, patience, perseverance, and clarity are spiritual practices that daily life gives as an opportunity to grow strong.
The key is to ask yourself frequently “what is the opportunity here? “ And tune in to the answer…
So, remember, we have only one day at a time to live, so let’s live this day consciously and deliberately and choose well.
