Stand up, begin again, and move forward.
Stand up to your obstacles and do something about them. You will find that they haven’t half the strength you think they have. ~Norman Vincent Peale
We will all experience setbacks, obstacles, and problems to work through in our life. Going through dark times and low points are opportunities for growth, strength and change as long as we stand up, begin again and move forward. Every day gives us the opportunity to begin again.
When you are able to stand up, begin again, and move forward, frustrating circumstances can’t keep you down. Disappointments can’t keep you down. Negative people can’t keep you down. The only person who can keep you down is you. And we do that with negative attitudes and behavior.
How do we develop the ability to stand up, bounce back and move forward?
Be hopeful and bring an optimistic attitude to your situation. Optimism is actively choosing to expect a good outcome and remembering that “this too shall pass.” Let’s practice looking for the good in all situations and count our blessings as we are working through our challenges. This will keep our body healthy and energized, mind clear and focused, and our spirit strong.
Next, take action. Do something, anything, that will move you forward in a positive way. Ask yourself what is the most helpful thing I can do right now, and do it, no excuses.
Lastly, take it a day at a time. You can overcome anything if you commit to taking it a day at a time.
Remember, we have only one day at a time to live, so live it today and choose to stand up, begin again, and move forward in strength and confidence.
